Trek

The first week of July Jill and Shawn gave up our kids to be Ma and Pa to nine wonderful kids. Marissa and Wyatt also went on the Trek but were not in our family. We had a lot of fun, and our stake put a lot of work into it.

The first day we picked up our hand carts and walked 14 miles, a distance which was a bit tiring (but not for Wyatt). We got to camp and ate all the food that they gave us (it was a lot).

The second day was not as hard, seeing as we only walked four miles. When we got to camp we had lots of fun and played Pioneer games.(three leg races, human knot, sling shots) There was a lot of people that got dehydrated on the trek. The doctors weren’t kidding when they said they would give IV’s. we were lucky though because no one in our trek family got an IV. Marissa was not so lucky and had to have three bags of IV fluid. Wyatt's family said he was alot of help on trek. Also the second day they had a violinist come and we did folk dancing.

The third day was 7 miles. We had a treat waiting for us at camp. A game that you had to balance 12 nails on one and if you got it you got to wash your hair. The next day we packed up and went on the buses. It was a amazing experience that I will not forget. We had a lot of fun and had lots of yummy food (Jill ended up dumping half of it out every meal because we had so much!) Here are some pictures for your enjoyment!
